Photon Valley Center aims to support the creation of world-class photonics and electronics technologies centers that can help revitalize regional industries through the use of photonics and electronics technologies. The Photon Valley Center was established in April 2017 as a part of the Hamamatsu Agency for Innovation.
The goal of the Photon Valley Center is to use the advanced knowledge accumulated in the region, from photonics technology to electronics technology and information technology, to boost and modernize established industries such as manufacturing, distribution, and agriculture, forestry, and fishery, making these industries more productive. The center promotes horizontal development and also works to cultivate new businesses and new industries.
The center joins hands with local people to play a crucial role in the revitalization of the region. It works to manage and plan research and development as well as human resources development at regional companies by linking the knowledge accumulated by regional universities, research institutes, and companies in various industries, thereby creating a network of world-class technology centers.
